Urban Sprawl ( Sofa Covers London )is a small family business based in Hackney in North East London. We’ve been making sofa & chair covers since 1996. Some of us were in the garment trade --- tailoring, pattern cutting etc.---and we enjoy producing professionally finished “couture for couches” with lined valances,fully overlocked seams,zips rather than touch & close tape,and so on.

We’re rather a camera-shy lot,and ,at the time,the only one of us prepared to be seen on the site was our secretary,who you can see on the top right.

We get so much business through cats,it made perfect sense to employ a bi-lingual secretary.P.B.is a valued member of the team,uniquely capable of dealing with cases of CUSS,(Compulsive Upholstery Scratching Syndrome)

P.B.’S workload has become so great that he agreed to train an assistant. Horace was a disadvantaged youth from the much filmed estate you can see through the window below,framed by one of our lovely Roman blinds. He’s done very well,but unfortunately developed CUSS himself. On the bottom right he looks in horror at the results of his affliction.
